The bail plea of Badayun’s Inspector Simranjit Kaur, who was caught taking a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from a rape victim, was rejected by the court of Additional Sessions Judge Suresh Kumar Gupta of Bareilly. Let us tell you that in the famous Nithari case, the inspector was dismissed on the charge of lax investigation. She was reinstated after eight years on the orders of the court.
Inspector Simranjit Kaur posted at Islamnagar police station in Badaun was arrested red handed by the Anti Corruption team on May 28 while taking bribe. Simranjit Kaur was investigating a rape case. A case was registered against the victim to create pressure. The inspector was demanding a bribe of Rs 50,000 to file the final report in this case. The victim had complained to the Anti Corruption.
The inspector filed a bail plea on Thursday. The lawyers of both the sides argued on this. The inspector said that he has been falsely implicated. On the other hand, the government lawyer said that the inspector has been caught red handed by the anti-corruption team. Evidences were also cited. The court rejected the bail plea of Simranjit Kaur.
Apart from this, constable Pravendra of Kadar Chowk police station of Badaun district was caught taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 a month ago. ADGC Saurabh Tiwari said that on Friday the court rejected the bail plea of the accused.
